Vengere Stadium in Rusape buzzed with anticipation last Saturday as the Pacific Storm Eastern Region’s top four tournament took center stage.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with the cheers of fans brandishing colorful banners and swaying to pulsating music.

In a nail-biting finale, Buffaloes clinched victory over Masvingo United with a thrilling 5-1 win in a penalty shootout, proudly taking home the title.
The tournament featured the renowned FC Hunters and Tenax, marking a true celebration of regional football, adorned by the presence of ZIFA Vice-President Kenny Ndebele as the esteemed guest of honor.

The crowd was treated to vibrant entertainment, with Zimdancehall artist Jah Signal and various DJs lighting up the event between matches. Emcee Ndombele skillfully navigated the day’s proceedings, keeping the energy high.
In an insightful interview during the tournament, Ndebele stressed the significance of corporate partnerships in fostering football development.
He called on potential sponsors to invest in the sport, asserting.
“We must build a strong foundation for football in Zimbabwe, starting with our lower and developmental leagues.
“Collaborations that enhance competitiveness are essential in this journey.”
He encouraged a united effort to elevate Zimbabwean football, remarking, “Let’s work together to reach new heights.”
The day also marked a special occasion for FC Hunters as they received their medals and trophy for claiming the Eastern Region championship.
Coach Clifford Dzvairo beamed with pride, stating:
“Our sights are now set on the Premier Soccer League, where we aspire to make a significant impact.
“We are grateful to the league and Pacific for a successful season, excited to compete against the nation’s best.”
Pacific Storm, the title sponsor of the Eastern Region Division One league, was lauded for their steadfast support. Marketing Manager Kudakwashe Chiutsi reaffirmed their dedication to grassroots football.
