The National Merits Awards (NAMA) will be held next year on February 28.
According to the National Merits Awards, this edition comes with a lot of excitement and optimism as starting off with the newly appointed event managers, Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution.

“We commend them for what they have done so far, and we give them our full support,” said National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), Director-Arts Promotion and Development, Barbara Gotore.

Gotore said the NAMA is submission-based, so they encourage artists to submit works created between December 1, 2024, and November 30, 2025.

“NAMA also emphasises originality, and we urge artists to submit only their original works—not reproductions or pieces made before December 1, 2024—as such entries will lead to automatic disqualification.

“Entry is open to Zimbabwean nationals or residents only, and every Zimbabwean is eligible to submit, regardless of whether they are registered with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe or not.

“For over two decades, NAMA has stood as a beacon of excellence, a platform that celebrates, honours, and immortalises the outstanding achievements of our artists.
“It is the moment we, as a country, say to our artists, ‘We see you, we value you, and we are proud of you.”
She assured that the adjudication process remains robust.
“Let me take this opportunity to assure the nation that the NAMA adjudication process remains robust, credible, and transparent.
“Our panel of adjudicators comprises experienced and respected professionals from the various arts disciplines.
“They will undertake their duties with the utmost integrity, ensuring that only the most deserving entries are honoured.
“In our continuous pursuit of excellence and integrity, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is pleased to announce the engagement of Alinial Chartered Accountants as the independent auditors for the National Arts Merit Awards.
“The involvement of a firm of such high repute ensures that the adjudication process and overall execution of NAMA will be conducted with the utmost professionalism and scrutiny, further solidifying public trust in our premier arts awards.
“The success of NAMA is not a solo act. It is a symphony of many players.
“To the Corporate World, we invite you to come on board as partners.
“Your investment in NAMA is not merely sponsorship; it is a strategic investment in the nation’s cultural fabric and creative economy.
“Let us work together to make this the most spectacular NAMA.
“To the Media, you are our essential allies.
“You are the megaphone that amplifies the stories of our artists.
“We count on your support to provide comprehensive coverage throughout the nomination period, the adjudication process, and the main event.
“Help us build the excitement and bring the nation along on this journey.
“To the public, this is your awards ceremony.
“ We call upon you to actively participate by supporting nominated artists, attending the events, and voting in the people’s choice award. The artists create for you, your appreciation is their greatest reward.”
The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2025, and for physical submissions, the closing time on the deadline day will be 4:30 p.m.

Those submitting online must ensure that they send their supporting material or downloadable links to namasubmissions@gmail.com.
