Another suspect in the murder case of businessman Joseph Mutangangura (67) has been brought before the court.
Recently, Phillip Mutasa (38) was arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of the businessman, which occurred at Mutangadura Hideout along Dunstan Road, Ruwa, Harare on August 17 this year.
National Police Spokesperson, Commission Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest of another suspect, Given Mandizadza (34).
“Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s statement issued on October 4 regarding the arrest of the suspect Mutasa.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirm the arrest of another suspect, Given Mandizadza (34), in connection with the same case.
“On October, 13, detectives from CID Homicide received information on the whereabouts of the second suspect.
“Acting on the tip, the detectives tracked the suspect to the intersection of Robert Mugabe Road and Julius Nyerere Way, Harare, where the suspect was subsequently arrested.
“During the arrest, police recovered two pistols, one with an empty magazine and another loaded with seven live rounds, three 32 long live cartridges, and two fuses.
Detectives also recovered two explosives, a baby grinder, and a black monkey hat from the back seat of a white Isuzu vehicle, which was being used by the suspect.”
