The rapist later raped the girlfriend twice.<\/p>\n
For that reason, the accused was arrested and brought before the Tredgold Regional Court in Bulawayo, where he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old man from Mhlotshwana Village in Inyathi was convicted of two counts of rape.<\/p>\n
According to the National Prosecuting Authority, on June 6, at about 11 pm, the offender went to the home of a 31-year-old victim in Mhlotshwana Village.<\/p>\n
He threatened both the victim and her boyfriend.<\/p>\n
When the victims tried to flee, the offender seized the victim and dragged her into a nearby bush, where he raped her.<\/p>\n
The offender then raped the victim a second time later that same night.<\/p>\n
The matter was reported to the police, and the complainant was referred to a hospital for a medical examination.<\/p>\n
