Midlands and Mashonaland Central also<br \/>\nexperienced significant fatalities, suggesting that disaster risk is no longer confined to<br \/>\ntraditional high-risk areas.<br \/>\nThe data reveals that fatalities were driven not only by severe weather, but also by weak<br \/>\ninfrastructure, unsafe housing, delayed emergency access, and continued exposure to high-<br \/>\nrisk environments. Provinces with poor road infrastructure and vulnerable housing<br \/>\nstructures experienced the highest levels of destruction.<br \/>\nThe destruction of schools, bridges, and health facilities disrupted essential public services,<br \/>\nwhile washed-away crops worsened food insecurity in affected communities.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of families were displaced after homes were destroyed, while the loss of schools<br \/>\nand health facilities disrupted access to education and healthcare services in affected<br \/>\ncommunities.<br \/>\n<strong>Conclusion<\/strong><br \/>\nAs extreme weather events become more frequent, the findings suggest that investment in<br \/>\nresilient infrastructure, early warning systems, safer housing and community based disaster<br \/>\npreparedness will be
