Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume has ordered investigations into the incident in which three bodies were retrieved from a mud hole at the site of massive sewer works being conducted by the City of Harare.<\/p>\n
This comes after a Harare male resident had drowned in a mud hole where emergency services teams ended up retrieving three bodies.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the City of Harare said authorities had been informed that a man walking home had fallen into the mud hole, but the sub aqua team led by Victor Kazembe (Coach Rambo), working with the City of Harare Fire Brigade, retrieved the body of a young female who had gone missing earlier yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
\u201cKazembe then brought up a second body, a male, but again it turned out this was not the person the rescue teams were initially looking for.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe then retrieved the third body of the young man who had been reported to have fallen into the mud pool.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice and other agencies are carrying out investigations, and details will be released as investigations continue.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteer Group, Concert was at the scene assisting with coordination together with the Fire Brigade.\u201d<\/p>\n
Deputy Mayor Rose Muronda, disaster risk management chairperson Cllr Jane Bhingari and Cllrs Pedzesai and Dzinomurumbi were also helping out at the scene until the early hours of today.<\/p>\n
