{"id":5633,"date":"2026-05-19T18:30:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zimdailyjournal.co.zw\/?p=5633"},"modified":"2026-05-19T18:30:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:30:49","slug":"you-wont-win-war-against-sir-wicknell-followers-urge-sonja-madzikanda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zimdailyjournal.co.zw\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/you-wont-win-war-against-sir-wicknell-followers-urge-sonja-madzikanda\/","title":{"rendered":"You won&#8217;t win war against Sir Wicknell, followers urge Sonja Madzikanda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Sir Wicknell&#8217;s wife, Sonja Madzikanda, has been urged to refrain from fighting businessman Sir Wicknell.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after the businessman lodged cases against Sonja and her mother, Tabitha Madzikanda, who are set to appear in court tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Sonja Louise Madzikanda and Tabeth Madzikanda in connection with criminal allegations made to the Police.<br \/>\n&#8220;More details will be availed in due course.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, she has been advised that she should consider listening to some of her followers who believe that her war against Wicknell will not be easy for her.<\/p>\n<p>Some even said she will be thrown into custody pending the finalisation of her case.<\/p>\n<p>While some say she will also lose custody of the children if she doesn&#8217;t handle the case properly.<\/p>\n<p>She is reportedly facing the following charges.<\/p>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">1) Fraud \u2013 she accused of attempting to withdraw 1.4 million usd from Chivayo\u2019s children\u2019s trust fund by trying to remove him as a signatory, allegedly to buy land and build cluster houses.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">2) Unauthorised distribution of content \u2013 linked to alleged sharing or circulation of material without permission.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">3) Undermining the authority of the President \u2013 alleged involvement in content or actions seen as damaging to the President\u2019s authority.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">4) Digital manipulation \/ AI-generated images (under investigation) \u2013 accused of using AI to fake images suggesting he met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier than he did.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Sonja Louise Madzikanda<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">1) Contempt of court \u2013 accused of breaching a High Court order relating to access to our two minor children.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">2) Unauthorised distribution of content\/undermining authority of the President.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Sonja was detained at Highlands Police Station after Sir Wicknell reported different cases.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Below are some of the advices she was given.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>More questions continue to emerge, what has gone wrong?<br \/>\nHowever, some people have been urging Sonja to negotiate for a peace settlement citing that she can&#8217;t win against Chivayo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fungai Danny Matongo<\/strong><br \/>\nThe truth of the matter is you can&#8217;t win against chivayo just negotiate for the sake of your kids.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Themba Donkoli Dube<\/strong><br \/>\nRemember there is no rule of law in Zimbabwe.
