<\/p>\nDespite losing to bitter rivals Caps United in a tense Harare Derby, Dynamos have been honoured with a bus by Sir Wicknel Chivayo.<\/p>\n
Sir Chivayo pledged to a Dynamos supporter who pleaded on behalf of the team to buy them the bus during his interview at Capitaltalk FM\u00a0 Radio recently.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The supporter requested Chivayo to buy the bus in the event Dynamos was going to beat Caps, which the former lost 2-1.<\/p>\n

However, Chivayo has honoured his pledge differently.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe weekend fixture between DEMBARE and MAKEPEKEPE was nothing short of sporting excellence at play, and I extend my congratulations to CAPS United for your victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cFootball is about COMPETITION and celebrating the BEAUTY of the game.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, what genuinely surprised me during the match was the level of ridicule and unnecessary mockery directed towards my promise to Dynamos if they WON the match against CAPS UNITED, which I made during my interview on Capitalk FM last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cA PASSIONATE Dynamos supporter had requested that in the event DEMBARE wins, I should buy the club a BRAND-NEW BUS.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhilst the result unfortunately did not go their way, I APPRECIATED the overwhelming love shown by the Dynamos supporters.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore importantly, most of my close relatives and friends are passionate Dynamos supporters, and for me, this matter goes beyond football.<\/p>\n
\u201cDYNAMOS is a HOUSEHOLD NAME and part of Zimbabwe\u2019s football history.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is the NEXT BEST THING to be formed in 1963, after ZANU PF.<\/p>\n
\u201cI therefore REFUSE to reduce myself to someone who only stands by his word when circumstances are FAVOURABLE.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccordingly, I say a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the GLAMOUR BOYS.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will STILL proceed with purchasing a BRAND-NEW 65-seater BUS for Dynamos Football Club. \u201cIn addition, I will also give the players USD$50,000 for trying hard as motivation and encouragement despite the defeat.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease note that this is NOT sponsorship of any sort, but just APPRECIATION to supporters who demonstrated and displayed genuine love by filling up the stadium.<\/p>\n

He added that he is surprised that his name is popular outside the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cI must say it’s actually SURPRISING how outside Zimbabwe, the “BIG” name \u201cCHIVAYO\u201d is received with RESPECT and treated to RED CARPET receptions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the saying goes, \u201c’ A PROPHET is not without HONOUR, EXCEPT in his own HOMETOWN. Unfortunately, some people struggle to celebrate one of their own simply because he is successful or WEALTHY.<\/p>\n
\u201cNone of that will ever change who I am or the values I stand for.<\/p>\n
\u201cPUT SOME RESPECT ON MY NAME.<\/p>\n
\u201cFootball must UNITE US and inspire healthy competition rather than hatred and division.<\/p>\n
