Police have warned the public against illegal possession and movement of explosives to any part of the country without being licenced.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong>National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, in a statement, that according to the Explosives Act, Chapter 10:08, it is a criminal offence to transport explosives.<\/p>\n He warned the public service vehicles, family or private vehicles that they are not allowed or permitted to carry explosives for whatever reason.<\/p>\n This is for the safety of travellers and the effective maintenance of law and order in the country.<\/p>\n Commissioner Nyathi added that, as guided by the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development and certainly the provisions of the Explosives Act, there are clear legal conditions through which explosives are manufactured, acquired, stored and ultimately transported.<\/p>\n This follows a road accident that claimed 12 lives after the kombi exploded.<\/p>\n \u201cIn this regard, Zimbabweans are urged to report anyone illegally transporting explosives in public service vehicles, family or private vehicles.<\/p>\n \u201cThe public should utilise the ZRP National Complaints Desk number (0242) 703631, WhatsApp number 0712800197 or report at any nearest police station.<\/p>\n \u201cAbove all, the explosives should be kept in authorised magazines as prescribed by the relevant ministry and the provisions of the Explosive Act.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Zimbabwe Republic Police will ensure the law takes its course without fear or favour on anyone found in illegal possession or transporting explosives without the relevant licence or authority.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Police have warned the public against illegal possession and movement of explosives to any part of the country without being licenced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":5304,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[27],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-5303","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news-zimbabwe"},"yoast_head":"\n
