The late Sungura legend Tongai Moyo’s mother, Ambuya Esther Mhurai Zengeya,\u00a0 popularly known as Gogo Chihera, has died aged 94.<\/p>\n

According to the family spokesperson and grandson, Obert Moyo, Gogo Chihera died at her rural home in Zhombe, Sosombe, Village 6.<\/p>\n

She had been battling asthma, among other health complications.<\/p>\n

\u201cGogo had been ill for quite some time, and she also had asthma.<\/p>\n

“We are very saddened by her death as she was a pillar of strength within the Moyo family and the Zhombe community, where she was widely respected for her wisdom.”<\/p>\n

Mourners are gathered in Zhombe.<\/p>\n

Moyo said funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.-Herald<\/p>\n
