Hip-hop musician, Runner Rulez, who was arrested in Gweru last Saturday night by armed police immediately after his performance, has been granted US$100 bail<\/p>\n
Runner was in custody since he was arrested and appeared before a Gweru magistrates’ court.<\/p>\n
He denied the charges, which involved a 15-year-old girl with whom he had been staying with for close to two weeks.<\/p>\n
He will be back in court on December 3 for his trial.<\/p>\n
Many people have been asking why he was arrested.<\/p>\n
While many people suspect the case of drugs, it is alleged that the issue is too sensitive, as it involves Runner’s mischiefs.<\/p>\n
The singer was given time to finish his performance before he was escorted from the venue.<\/p>\n
The police source said the singer is most likely to be charged with kidnapping and having sexual intercourse with a minor girl.<\/p>\n
It is alleged that the singer, reportedly, kidnapped a young girl with whom he has been staying with since last week.<\/p>\n
The girl, aged 15, reportedly disappeared from home, leading to a search launched by her parents.<\/p>\n
The source reported that she went AWOL without communication.<\/p>\n
“She had been missing before a police report was made in Harare.<\/p>\n
“It was jlater revealed that he was staying with the accused.<\/p>\n
“The charges are emanating from kidnapping and alternatively having sexual intercourse with a minor.<\/p>\n
“So, they went together to Gweru, where he was performing.<\/p>\n
“And police were alerted about his whereabouts.”<\/p>\n
It is reported that he was then apprehended after the show, despite some fans trying to resist.<\/p>\n
“So the police had to disperse the crowd using three gunshots.”<\/p>\n
