Police have issued a stern warning against individuals and syndicates who have intensified efforts to interfere by mobilising over US$200 000 meant to bribe police, witnesses, and judcial officials in the ongoing investigations and court appearance of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Walter Magaya.<\/p>\n
Police identified Albertina Saikonda as the leader in mobilising a campaign to raise US$200,000, allegedly meant to bribe judiciary officials.<\/p>\n
In a statement, national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, warned individuals who are trying to influence the process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Zimbabwe Republic Police warn individuals and syndicates who have intensified efforts to interfere and in the process defeat or obstruct the course of justice in the ongoing investigations and court appearance by PHD Ministries leader, Walter Magaya.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Zimbabwe Republic Police is fully aware of coordinated efforts by a team led by Albertina Saikonda based in South Africa to raise funds to the tune of US$200,000 or more in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe money will then be used to approach and compromise the Police investigators, prosecutors, magistrates, and judges, among others, so as to derail the whole criminal investigations and court proceedings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Zimbabwe Republic Police, therefore, warn individuals, groups and associates that they will be arrested as the law will definitely take effect without fear or favour.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Police is monitoring what is happening with a very keen interest for the effective maintenance of law and order and justice delivery.<\/p>\n
