Bulawayo-A Tanzanian National, Sleiman Amour (44) has been jailed for 15 years in prison by the Bulawayo High Court for unlawful possession of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
On October 23, police officers manning a roadblock at the 18km peg along the Bulawayo-Plumtree Road stopped a South African-registered Man Truck heading to Plumtree.<\/p>\n
Upon request, the Tanzanian driver failed to produce a temporary import permit, prompting the police to conduct a search of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The offender, who was a passenger in the vehicle, led the officers to the loading box where lunch boxes wrapped in foil were discovered among bags of beans.<\/p>\n
The offender opened one of the boxes and began eating spaghetti.<\/p>\n
A further search led to the discovery of more boxes containing methamphetamine, hidden in a specially designed compartment on the roof of the truck.<\/p>\n
The driver and another passenger managed to flee the scene.<\/p>\n
The offender was arrested, and the vehicle was seized and forfeited to the State.<\/p>\n
