Harare, Zimbabwe \u2013<\/strong> The Harare Open Mic is set to light up Moto Republik this Saturday, featuring acclaimed artist Tina Nomsa Watyoka as the guest of honour.<\/p>\n

This edition, dubbed the pre-Shoko Festival Talent Showcase, aims to empower young artists by providing them a platform to perform and connect with seasoned professionals.<\/p>\n

Now in its fifth year, the Harare Open Mic continues to be a beacon for emerging talent in music, poetry, comedy, and storytelling.<\/p>\n

It will start from 2-5 p.m.<\/p>\n

Harare Open Mic Organiser Batsi Chigama highlighted the significance of Moto Republik as a cultural hub.<\/p>\n

“This venue not only hosts the Shoko Festival but also nurtures the artistic community.<\/p>\n

“We want to prepare young artists for the larger stages ahead,” said Chigama.<\/p>\n

Watyoka, who began her artistic journey at The Book Caf\u00e9, will share her experiences and insights with the participants.<\/p>\n

Known for her saxophone skills, she has released two successful albums, including the popular “CHII.”<\/p>\n

She emphasised the importance of mentorship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to inspire these young talents to embrace their individuality and learn the business of being an artist,\u201d emphasised Watyoka<\/p>\n

The lineup includes a mix of fresh voices and seasoned performers, featuring poets like Tadana Nakai and Yvonne Matanhire, along with storytellers such as Tafadzwa Bob Mutumbi.<\/p>\n

Returning to captivate the audience is Hip Hop artist N.T.M, alongside upcoming musicians Nicole Livett and Tendai Mhlanga.<\/p>\n

D-blok Keislim’s will serve as the energetic MC for the event.<\/p>\n

As the Harare Open Mic continues to foster creativity and collaboration, this Saturday promises to be an unforgettable showcase of talent, reflecting the vibrant cultural landscape of Harare.<\/p>\n
