Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has finished the refurbishment of New Ambassador Hotel, located in the heart of Harare\u2019s Central Business District.<\/p>\n
The project which included the transformation of all 72 guest rooms, including the hotel\u2019s executive and junior suites was completed with the investment of US$500,000.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a media tour, Pride Khumbula, RTG\u2019s Corporate Affairs & Quality Manager, highlighted that the refurbishment reflects the Group\u2019s unwavering focus on quality, guest comfort, and sustainability.<\/p>\n

She noted that the upgrades have been carefully planned to enhance both aesthetic appeal and operational performance, with<\/p>\n
\u201cSustainability remains central to RTG\u2019s refurbishment strategy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe New Ambassador Hotel has incorporated environmentally conscious features such as low-flow flushing systems that reduce water consumption by up to 30 percent per flush.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hotel is now fully fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting, further contributing to energy conservation across the property.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese efforts reflect RTG\u2019s commitment to embedding sustainable practices into every facet of its operations,\u201dshe said.<\/p>\n
The hotel enjoys a strategic location within Harare\u2019s CBD, within walking distance of major financial institutions, government departments, commercial centres, retail outlets, cinemas, and cultural landmarks including the National Museum and Art Gallery.<\/p>\n
\u201cRTG also invested US$380,000 into the refurbishment of its Victoria Falls properties in the first quarter of 2025, namely Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel and A\u2019Zambezi River Lodge.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese investments form part of RTG\u2019s mission to provide world-class hospitality experiences in both urban and tourism-driven locations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis makes it an ideal choice for local and international guests seeking comfort, convenience, and cultural engagement,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The New Ambassador Hotel refurbishment forms part of RTG\u2019s wider investment in infrastructure upgrades, which have totalled US$26 million over the past five years.<\/p>\n
In July 2024, the Group completed a US$5.2 million renovation of the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).<\/p>\n
Tendai Madziwanyika, Chief Executive of Rainbow Tourism Group, emphasised the strategic importance of the refurbishment in advancing RTG\u2019s business goals and contributing to the revitalisation of Zimbabwe\u2019s hospitality landscape.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs RTG, we view infrastructure investment as a strategic lever for growth, differentiation, and long-term value creation.<\/p>\n
“The refurbishment of the New Ambassador Hotel is part of a deliberate plan to modernise our assets, uplift our city-centre offering, and contribute to urban renewal in Harare\u2019s CBD,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cWe are not just upgrading hotels\u2014we are elevating the guest journey, improving accessibility, embedding sustainability, and supporting Zimbabwe\u2019s tourism and economic development agenda.<\/p>\n

In July 2024, the Group completed a US$5.2 million renovation of the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).<\/p>\n
The project included the creation of six new luxury diplomatic suites and a Presidential Suite developed by combining four rooms into a premium space with two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, dining area, kitchenette, and a visitor\u2019s bathroom.<\/p>\n
Additionally, 48 guest rooms were modernised, and the HICC was outfitted with newconference seating equipped with integrated charging ports for 3-pin, USB, and Type-C devices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
