A Zvishavane based Support Unit police officer has been jailed for 21 years for repeatedly raping his daughter.<\/p>\n
The 47-year-old was convicted of the horrific rape and indecent assault against his daughter when he ppeared before Zvishavane Magistrates’ Court.<\/p>\n
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the officer repeatedly abused his Grade 7 daughter at their home.<\/p>\n
It was heard that the abuse began in August 2024, when he returned home one night while drunk before he forced himself on his daughter in their own home.<\/p>\n
He threatened her to not to report the matter.<\/p>\n
It was proved that the abuse continued with another incident in January 2025, where he fondled her.<\/p>\n
He further expressed his desire to have sex with her.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, the abuse was interrupted by the arrival of the girl’s stepmother.<\/p>\n
Despite the interruption, he again intimidated his daughter into silence.<\/p>\n
The State heard that the young girl bravely confided in her friends and a teacher at school, who helped her report the abuse.<\/p>\n
A medical examination confirmed what had happened, leading to the arrest and conviction of her father.<\/p>\n
