A 20-year-old man who broke into a 65-year-old woman\u2019s home before raping her slept immediately after committing the heinous act.<\/p>\n

The man, Emanuel Mahachi from Chief Chitsa area in Gutu, appeared before the Rusape Magistrates’ Court for rape.<\/p>\n

He was slapped with 18 years effective in jail.<\/p>\n

It was proved that on September 27, Emanuel went to the complainant’s homestead in Chief Chitsunge area of Buhera.<\/p>\n

He broke a window to gain entry.<\/p>\n

The complainant screamed for help but no one came to her rescue.<\/p>\n

He then forcibly grabbed the complainant’s neck and instructed her to follow his orders before he raped her.<\/p>\n

The accused person fell asleep after the act before the complainant took the opportunity to inform the neighbours that there was a stranger in her house.<\/p>\n

She also wanted to advise the neighbours that she had been raped.<\/p>\n

He was then apprehended leading to his arrest.<\/p>\n
