In a significant move aimed at fostering unity and strengthening organisational integrity, the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM)\u2019s Harare East Province, educational department recently held a mega Provincial Leadership Seminar at Hatfield Assembly with a focus on constitutionality and governance.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This seminar marks a crucial step in reshaping the church\u2019s approach to leadership and adherence to constitutional principles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to note that cultured accountability is the prime source of good governance.<\/p>\n

“Good governance is core in every spiritual setup.<\/p>\n

“Spiritual beings are always complemented by ethical standards pronounced through loyalty, love, and unity of purpose\u201d, said Dr. Ezekiel\u00a0 Mvundla, the provincial head of the educational department and this was concurred by Provincial Overseer Nehanda.<\/p>\n

The event drew more than 400 AFM in Zimbabwe leaders, pastors, and legal experts, focusing on the importance of a constitutionally grounded framework for church governance.<\/p>\n

Sessions covered constitutional guidelines for church operations, transparency in financial management, and conflict resolution mechanisms within the church.<\/p>\n

The seminar emphasized adherence to the AFM in Zimbabwe’s constitution, which church leaders see as vital to maintaining unity and avoiding factionalism, a challenge that has plagued the church in recent years.<\/p>\n

Speakers at the seminar included legal consultant, Advocate Alex Majachani, and AFM senior clergy, Elder Gwatidzo who underscored the importance of leadership accountability and transparent governance as enshrined in the church\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n

By revisiting and strengthening the church\u2019s governing framework, AFM in Zimbabwe leaders aim to establish clear guidelines for leadership roles and responsibilities and to set standards that will reduce ambiguity in decision-making processes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis constitution is there to address some grey areas which the old constitution failed to address\u201d, said Advocate Alex Majachani.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the seminar was the introduction of constitutional training programmes designed for church leaders across all levels, with the goal of embedding constitutional values and reducing misinterpretations that may lead to disputes.<\/p>\n

Many attendees expressed optimism that these programs would create a new culture of openness and accountability, aligning with the church\u2019s core values and long-term vision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish such programmes are done regularly for they give us an opportunity to understand the core values to be followed as a church.<\/p>\n

“Today, I have learnt and now I have a new mindset which I believe will create a positive change at my church,\u201d said Baba Machokoto, Springs of Grace Assembly Evangelist leader.<\/p>\n

For AFM members, the seminar represents more than just a call to action\u2014it is a pledge for a fresh start, driven by a commitment to unity, transparency, and constitutional integrity.<\/p>\n

As the AFM in Zimbabwe looks to the future, the focus on constitutionality is expected to inspire confidence among its congregants, restore trust within its ranks, and reaffirm its standing as a respected spiritual and social institution in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n
