Zimbabwe- President Mnangagwa will not be contesting for the elections in 2028 after the lapse of his term if what he said is anything to go by.<\/p>\n

His speech seems to have put speculation to rest that he will throw in the towel when his term expires.<\/p>\n

Recently, the President and his loyalists have been pushing for the ‘2030’ ED anenge achipo.<\/p>\n

“Our constitution says after every 5 years, we go to Congress.<\/p>\n

“We select our president, the president serves two terms. I served my first five years, tikaenda kuCongess mukandidzorera.<\/p>\n

“So i am now serving my last five years, ndoendawo kunozorora, dzinopera manje manje, toenda kuCongress motsvaka mumwe\u00a0 anotungamira achitevedzera tsoka dzangu, mazvihwa.<\/p>\n

“Mazuva angu ekuzorora ave pedyo, ndichaenda kunozorora, toenda kuCongress totsvaga anotevedza tsoka dzangu, dzamunhumutapa, mukuzvinzwa ndakurumai nzeve.”<\/p>\n

His speech was received with mixed reactions:<\/p>\n

With all these calls of 2030 anenge achipo, he will make a U turn and say the voice of the people is the voice of blah blah.-The Other Fella<\/p>\n
