children die in suspected measles, mumps cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AT LEAST 35 children are reported to have died in the Hurungwe area within the space of a month due to suspected measles and mumps.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Hurungwe CPU is seized with the death of 35 children.<\/p>\n<p>The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Nick Mangwana confirmed this on his X handle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CPU is seized with the death of 35 children who have died in a space of a month from suspected measles and mumps.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The children are from one of the apostolic religious sects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The tragic deaths came to light when a member of the church brought four of his children to Karoi Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The two were showing signs of measles and the other two had mumps.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The affected wards and villages are Ward 4, 22, and Nyama Village 5 of Hurungwe RDC.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some of the children who have died were recorded from the following families;<\/p>\n<p>Nduna household 7 children<\/p>\n<p>Magara 5 children<\/p>\n<p>Matashu 2 children<\/p>\n<p>Chikonamombe 2 children<\/p>\n<p>Kaitano 2
